Jim Costa is a Livonia native and a graduate of Central Michigan University with a degree in broadcast and cinematic arts. He spent more than four years in the Grand Rapids radio market, working for iHeartMedia, before returning to metro Detroit to work for 97.1 The Ticket in 2021. He had previously interned at the station. At 97.1 The Ticket, Costa started as a fill-in host, quickly showing his versatility. He has also served as the studio host for the Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and Pistons games. In February 2024, following the end of the NFL season, he became the new co-host of the weekday morning show "Costa & Jansen" alongside Jon Jansen, succeeding Mike "Stoney" Stone. In addition to his radio work, Costa co-hosts the sports betting podcast "Cash The Ticket" with Mike Valenti and is the co-host of the Lions pregame show during the regular season.
