Moo-ville Creamery is getting ready to open a new ice cream shop soon!

The Westendorp family opened their first location on their dairy farm in Barry County in 2005. For them, having their own dairy farm means they actually plant the crops, feed the cows, produce the milk, and turn it into ice cream. They control every step from start to finish. Moo-ville also uses granulated sugar instead of corn syrup and about 20–25% more butterfat than the competition.

The creamery has earned national recognition, winning top honors for its chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Currently, locations are in Nashville, Ionia, Zeeland, and Eaton Rapids.

And now you’ll have another place to enjoy those and Moo-ville’s many other flavors!

According to MLive, the Westendorps will open their fifth Michigan location in Richland in Kalamazoo County. The new shop is being built in a historic barn that was originally constructed in 1837 at 8940 N. 32nd Street in Richland.

Troy Westendorp, co-owner of the family farm, tells MLive that this new spot will have more seating and storage than the others. It will also include a small bakery, gift shop, outdoor entertainment space, and a drive-thru. You’ll find more than 40 Moo-ville ice cream flavors, plus their other signature treats like shakes, sundaes, soft serve, and smoothies. The shop will also carry take-and-bake meals, milk, meat, and other products.
