From a Traverse City Dairy Farm to National Fame

Moomers Homemade Ice Cream is officially representing Michigan in a bracket to crown America's Best Ice Cream. The legendary, family-owned dairy farm routinely sweeps "best in the state" awards. Moomers is located about five miles outside of Traverse City at 7263 North Long Lake Road.

Moomers holds a deeply personal spot in my own life because my husband and I actually skipped the traditional bakery route and had them design our multi-tiered ice cream wedding cake! Tasting a dozen of their 160-plus fresh-churned flavors on their sprawling property while looking out at the cows was easily the best wedding prep we did.

How the America's Best Ice Cream Bracket Works

The nationwide showdown is being hosted by the interactive voting platform The64.com. The tournament pits 64 of the finest scoop shops and creameries from coast to coast against each other in a single-elimination bracket.

There are no judges, no entry fees. It's all driven by pure customer reviews, social media buzz, and public pride.

When and How to Vote for Michigan

Round one of voting officially opens here on Thursday, July 16 at noon, perfectly timed right ahead of National Ice Cream Day on July 19.

The tournament is going to move fast, running for 18 days straight as the field narrows from 64 down to the final championship matchup. Each round lasts for three days, meaning you will need to keep checking back to move Moomers forward.

The champion will be officially crowned on August 3.
