Where Is Spirit Halloween Popping Up This Fall Around West Michigan?

Before there was even a slight chill in the air, indicating that summer was coming to an end, the lights of every empty storefront around the nation came to life as Spirit Halloween started its three months of brick-and-mortar retail.

The premier location for everything spooky, from off-brand costumes with ambiguous enough names to not get sued into oblivion, to spooky animatronics and horror movie merchandise.

As exciting as it is for these shops to open, the question of where they'll open every year can be a bit of a mystery. That's why I've highlighted all the locations around West Michigan, so you know which former businesses are now temporary housing for the spookiest stores in town.

Spirit Halloween

Since it opened in 1983, Spirit Halloween has grown to over 1,500 seasonal locations nationwide, making it the largest Halloween retailer in the US (though I'm not sure there is much competition). Last year, the company had six locations around West Michigan.

This year, there is a new location at Centerpointe Mall on 28th Street, and some of the places have changed buildings from 2024, notably moving into Party City and Joann's Fabrics buildings that closed this year.

Keep your eyes peeled for the big orange banners. After the Halloween season, if West Michigan is lucky, perhaps these Spirit Halloween stores will turn into Spirit Christmas stores.
