Terry Crews Reacts To Western Michigan’s Controversial Loss To Michigan

The College Football season kicked off on Saturday with arguably one of the craziest (and most controversial) endings in the history of the sport. A match between one of the faces of college sports, the Michigan Wolverines, and an underdog in-state school, the Western Michigan Broncos. It should have been a blowout, an easy start to the season.

It was anything but. Instead, the Wolverines got a second chance on a Hail Mary pass after failing their first one as time expired, only for the referees to review the play and determine there was still a single second on the clock, despite broadcast clocks indicating otherwise. Michigan succeeded a second time in a crazy touchdown that may have saved their season.

This controversy instantly exploded online, with many doubting the call and supporting the Kalamazoo underdogs. One such supporter was former Bronco himself, TV star Terry Crews, who played for the Broncos from 1987 to 1990.

Before Terry Crews was ever in White Chicks or Brooklyn Nine-Nine, he was an art student at Western Michigan University. But after his freshman year, he joined the football team as a walk-on.

Crews wore #94 and played defensive end, immediately making an impact and earning himself a scholarship, according to an interview in Eli's Places. He led the Broncos to a MAC championship and was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams.

Terry Crews Shows Support After Hard Loss

Crews took to Facebook to show his support for his former team, posting, "Proud of Western Michigan Football's Fight. I'll forever be a BRONCO!!!" along with photos from his days in the brown and gold.

Crews didn't say how he felt about the controversial call, but showing support for the team speaks volumes about how he felt his team played.

The Broncos play the Monmouth Hawks on September 12th.
