A popular Detroit food truck is hitting the road, and your TV screen.

Cooking with Que, known for serving up bold, plant-based dishes, will be representing Motor City on Season 18 of Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race.”

If you’re not already tuned in, the show hosted by Tyler Florence follows nine food truck teams as they cook and compete their way through high-stakes challenges, all for a shot at a $50,000 grand prize.

Chef Quiana “Que” Rice, the powerhouse behind Cooking with Que, shared the big news on Facebook, writing: “We’re bringing bold food and good energy every step of the way… Let’s show the world what it looks like to #EatToLive and why Cooking with Que is more than a brand — it’s a movement.”

The first challenge? A banana-themed showdown inspired by the wildly entertaining Savannah Bananas baseball team. One unlucky team will be eliminated right out of the gate.

Cooking with Que will face some serious competition from food trucks all over the country, including:

• Burger Walla from Newark, NJ
• Eat My Biscuits from Atlanta
• Fat Kid Food Co. from Ashland, OR
• G’s Cheesesteaks from Staten Island
• Good Fortune Company from Memphis
• Nishaan from Brooklyn
• Rising Tiger from Longmont, CO
• Stop Drop N Roll from Springfield, NJ

One Youtuber gave a sneak peek of the trucks when they were filming near his town earlier this year:

With their fresh flavors and Detroit grit, Cooking with Que is ready to bring the heat. Don’t miss the premiere (and don’t forget to root for Michigan’s own!)

This Abandoned Michigan Restaurant Was Featured On The Food Network

While not many restaurants that made an appearance on the food network have closed since premiering, this one unfortunately has. Take a look at this abandoned Michigan dinner.

Lansing Restaurants That Should Be Featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives

The Lansing restaurants listed below are gems of the city. If you haven't been to all of them yet, add them to your list. We think Guy Fieri should add them to his list as well so he can feature them the next time he comes back to Lansing for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
