
Detroit Lions’ Sam LaPorta’s Chances of Playing Again This Season Are ‘Very, Very Slim’
Bad news for Detroit Lions' fans today as head coach Dan Campbell gave an update on injured tight end Sam LaPorta during a press conference on Friday.

When asked about LaPorta's status, Coach Campbell said that LaPorta had back surgery following an injury he sustained in the Lions' win over the Washington Commanders.
"He did have a procedure, and he's going to be out for a while - a while." - Coach Dan Campbell
LaPorta was placed on injured reserve (IR) on November 15, ahead of the team's matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fans were hopeful that they would see LaPorta take the field again this season, but that's looking pretty doubtful. In fact, Coach Dan Campbell said,
"I think we would be fortunate to have a chance to get him back for the rest of the season. Yeah." - Coach Dan Campbell
Campbell said the chances of LaPorta taking the field again before this season ends are "very, very slim."
Prior to his injury, LaPorta had been having a very good season. He'd had 40 receptions for 489 yards and three touchdowns.
