While the letter did not specifically outline how many stores would be closing or specify which ones, Axios is reporting that there are fourteen stores closing across the United States in early 2026.
Grandville, Michigan Macy's Store Closing For Good
Sadly, one of those stores is right here in West Michigan. The Macy's store located at Rivertown Crossings Mall is now listed on the company's website as "closing soon". The site does not specify a date that the store will close, but encourages shoppers to search for other Macy's locations nearby or shop online.
Macy's Stores Still Open in Michigan
After the closure of the Grandville store, there will still be one remaining Macy's location in West Michigan. The Macy's in Kentwood at the Woodland Mall will remain open (at least it appears that way.)
The department store has eight additional Michigan locations, including Ann Arbor, Novi, Taylor, Dearborn, Okemos, Troy, Portage, and Saginaw.
