each year we go on at least one group tubbing trip down a river in West Michigan.

During this fun tubing trip it's common to see people in canoes or kayak's joined by a dog that loves being in and around the water.

One thing I've never seen in my life though is a cat that likes being around water.

Most would freak out, hissing and screaming, doing everything in their power to escape.

That is probably the case for most cats but there is at least one cat in West Michigan that loves being out on the water.

Noodle The Boat Cat

If you ever find yourself near the Kalamazoo River on a Wednesday you might do a double take when you see Noodle the cat with his owner Bryan Daniel floating along in their canoe.

Daniel noticed one day that his cat liked being his neighbor's pool, so one day he decided to bring him along to the river to see if he would like it.

Turns out it was purr-fect for Noodle and he had a great time laying down on Daniel's lap as he paddled them down the river.

If you wanted to join them and the Kalamazoo Paddle Club you can join them every Wednesday night from 5:30 until 8:45 p.m.

The club starts out at Merrill Park in Comstock and floats down the Kalamazoo River to Verburg Park on Kalamazoo’s Northside.
