Easter is a little more that a week away, April 5, but it looks like the Easter Bunny will be a little early this year, at least in Cascade Township.

The township, to the joy of many, is having its very popular Easter Egg Hunt, and it's this weekend, Saturday, March 28. The great thing about the hunt is it is open to all families in the community.

The Easter Egg Hunt is again this year at Cascade Recreation Park, 3810 Thornapple River Drive. Take Thornhills off 28th street, SE which becomes Thornapple River Drive. The gates will open at 9 a.m., and the mad dash for eggs kicking off at 10 a.m.

Fox 17 says this free, family-friendly event launched last year for the first time and was a huge success. No doubt the kids were thrilled with the more than 20,000 stuffed eggs scattered across the field. And something new will be hiding among all the eggs. It will be some golden eggs with very special surprises inside. A Golden Ticket maybe? Will Willy Wonka be there? Hmmm...

There is even more fun this year with Culver's coming onboard. They are adding different types of balls spread across the field alongside the eggs.

If you have a toddler, they can get crushed in the land-rush of a stampede. So, there will be a special designated toddler-friendly hunt area to give the littles their special place to find eggs.

Of course the Easter Bunny will be there, along with a DJ with lots of music to keep the fun going, and many booths from community partners.
