Do You Like to Laugh? You’ll Love SNL’s Leslie Jones Coming to Grand Rapids

One of the funniest ladies in comedy today, Leslie Jones, is coming to Grand Rapids for a hilarious evening of great laughs.

She's bringing her "I'm Hot" tour to The Big Room, part of Silva, on November 14, and tickets are going on sale this Thursday, April 16 at 10 a.m., presented by The Pyramid Scheme. To get tickets simply go to The Big Room website.

What a career Leslie Jones has had. She is a three-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee as well as a Writer’s Guild Award and NAACP Award nominee for her work on Saturday Night Live.

There were so many memorable moments on SNL with Leslie Jones, including this one.

Jones is an athlete and was going to college on a basketball scholarship and considered playing professionally. But still unsure what she wanted to do, she changed her major several times from pre-law to eventually communications.

She started doing stand-up in college, won a college funniest person contest and left for L.A. She got noticed at The Comedy Store and other clubs, but life was tough and it took a few years not performing to bring her back to the mic, refreshed and ready to go.

Chris Rock was the one who helped her get a big break, auditioning for SNL. She nailed it and got the gig.

She had a good run on Saturday Night Live, but left for other projects. She moved on to movies, co-staring in Top Five, Trainwreck, the reboot of Ghostbusters, Coming 2 America, and voice acting in The Angry Birds Movie 2 and The Sloth Lane.
