The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) is warning consumers to immediately toss certain "Dancing Goat" and "Goats Best" products produced before May 4, 2026. Inspectors found what they say are unsanitary processing conditions and risks of undeclared allergens such as peanuts, eggs, and soy.

Which Michigan Dairy Products Are Affected?

The products come from Goats Best / Dancing Goat Creamery, a small goat farm in Ionia, Michigan, located on Kelsey Highway.

According to an MDARD press release, affected products include packaged goat cheeses, gelato, and fluid goat milk products. Retail in voices may also list Brookwood Farm or Brookwood Farm Creamery as the seller.

State inspectors reportedly document moldy cheese buckets, questionable storage practices, and equipment concerns that could potentially expose products to bacteria, including E. coli, Salmonella, and Listeria.

Officials say people with peanut, egg, or soy allergies could face serious reactions if exposed to undeclared ingredients. Consumers are urged to check refrigerators and freezers and throw away affected products immediately. Retailers are also being told to remove products from shelves.
