Is Bronner’s Really Opening a Halloween-Themed Superstore?
Did you see that story making the rounds on social media about Bronner's opening a year-round Halloween megastore?
Before you get too excited, you should probably "consider the source", as they say.
The huge Bronner's Christmas Wonderland complex in Frankenmuth, billed as the World's Largest Christmas Store, will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027. The Bronner family businesses themselves actually date back even further, to the 1940s.
Something that's been steadfast since the inception of Bronner's Christmas Wonderland is its commitment to its motto: "Enjoy CHRISTmas, It's HIS Birthday! Enjoy Life, It's HIS Way!!" The Bronner family's priority of keeping Christ in Christmas is evident in most everything attached to the Bronner's name.

Make no mistake — Bronner's Christmas Wonderland isn't all about nativity scenes and huge crosses. There's a huge Santa Claus out front, and plenty of secular décor available for purchase inside as well.
Where the Rumor Started
Maybe that's what made the Macumb Breaking News' post on Facebook about the planned 2026 opening of "Bronner's Gates to Hell" — a Halloween-focused superstore — believable to some.
Macumb Breaking News quoted insiders as saying the 200-thousand square foot Bronner's Halloween store in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, would be "so massive it’ll make Spirit Halloween, Lowe’s, and Home Depot look like glorified dollar stores".
What the Viral Post Claimed
According to the post, "Bronner's Gates to Hell" would also feature "a 24-hour haunted house, a full food court, and even waterslides that shoot riders into a blood-red pool, plus a 'slaughterhouse carryout' offering chicken dinners to go, keeping ties to Frankenmuth’s roots."

The post garnered more than 7,000 reactions on Facebook in two weeks, and has been shared nearly 10,000 times.
How People Reacted on Facebook
Despite Macumb Breaking News being clearly labeled as a parody/satire page, at least a few people were fooled into thinking "Bronner's Gates to Hell" was actually being built.
"Just sad. Anything for a buck." - Karen D.
"This is sickening" - Beverly H.
The vast majority of the post's readers seemed to get the joke fairly quickly, however.
"Thought it was real until I saw who it was from." - Mark A.
"I'm actually mad this isn't real." - Sarah C.

Why It’s Clearly a Hoax
Someone might be able to pull off a massive year-round Halloween superstore such as this — maybe even in Michigan. But it sure as the "Gates to Hell" won't be the Bronners.
