You can now step back in time and climb aboard the legendary Boblo Boat in Detroit once again.

It has been more than 30 years since the Boblo Boat last made a voyage. According to the Detroit Free Press, the last time people were able to board the boat was in 2007.

Fast-forward to 2026, and the public is once again welcome to step aboard this iconic piece of Detroit history - this time to walk through and experience the boat while it remains docked.

Restoring the Boblo Boat has been no small task for its owner, Ron Kattoo. A lot of blood, sweat, tears, and money made this opening possible. That said, there is still additional work that needs to be completed.

The ultimate goal is to make the Boblo Boat available for private rentals and special occasions, while also welcoming the public aboard for regular, daily events.

Where is the Boblo Island Boat docked?

The boat is docked in the Detroit River, at 150 St. Jean Street. Parking is available next to the Boblo Boat.

There is a fee to explore the Boblo Boat, with all proceeds going right back into its continued restoration.

Have you ever been on the Boblo Boat? I was on it once as a kid to go to Boblo Island. For some reason, I remember people dancing on the boat - am I wrong?
