Missing Holland Teen’s Body Found in Lake Michigan

The body of 16-year-old Riley Hoeksema was found Wednesday, June 22.

Hoeksema, was reported missing after a boat capsized during the weekend on Lake Michigan. His body was found just after noon Wednesday, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.

The teen was with a friend, 16-year-old Levi Winkley, who was pulled from the water by a passerby in another boat. Hoeksema had not been seen nor heard from since around 8:40 p.m. Sunday.

Both boys were students at Holland Christian Schools.
