Paul McCartney Leaves Hospital
The worst of Paul McCartney's recent health problems appear to be over. The rock legend has apparently been released from a Tokyo hospital, where he was admitted on March 22, and has left the country.
On the website for his now-postponed tour of Japan is a message from the organizer. Although in Japanese, an online translator -- while far from perfect English -- provided enough details. It suggests that he checked out of his hotel on Monday and was leaving the country on a chartered plane. The message also says that McCartney will look to re-schedule the dates, and that he apologizes to his fans for any inconvenience that canceling may have caused.
McCartney had planned to play five shows in Japan and one in Seoul, South Korea. But he contracted an undisclosed virus, which prompted the two-week tour to be scrapped. The concerts were supposed to feature the debut of "Newman," a robot who appears with McCartney in his video for 'Appreciate.'
His illness, as of now, is not expected to interfere with McCartney's U.S. tour, which begins June 14 in Lubbock, Texas, the hometown of McCartney's idol, Buddy Holly.
