My alma mater, Central Michigan is participating in the first ever Bahamas Bowl in Nassau, taking on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Wednesday at noon. In addition to getting a nice vacation on a beautiful Caribbean island, the teams got a chance to give something back to their host nation.

Directional schools. Corporate sponsors you’ve never heard of. Teams with .500 records playing in the postseason. But you’re still glued to the TV. Must be the first week of bowl season.

For Alabama, Oregon, Florida State and Ohio State, the college football championship hunt begins. Meanwhile, Michigan State, Western Michigan, Central Michigan and Notre Dame are also going to bowl games. As for Michigan fans, sorry but you have to wait until next year.
