WFGR Retrovision – Whitmark

If you grew up in West Michigan, you of course remember Whitmark!   In fact, I still own a stereo I bought at Whitmark back in the day.

The whole "Catalog" showroom idea was kind of cool, allowing more space on the showroom floor and then you'd take you're little ticket up and get your item. I remember these places sold a lot of Jewelry too.

This photo of is the actual Whitmark building (And it's still there) in Plainfield township.

Did you know that Whitmark was based right here in GR? It officially closed in 1997, but the memories remain, including my stereo.
