A Family Tradition That Started in the Netherlands
The deBoer family has been part of the local food scene since 1956, when they first opened their bakery in Holland. The roots go back even further, with their grandfather working as a baker in the Netherlands.
Those recipes and traditions have been passed down through four generations, shaping what the business is today.

Now, that legacy continues with a new generation stepping in. Samuel, a classically trained master baker, brings creative direction, while Mitchiel, a graduate of the Florida Culinary Institute, serves as head chef. Jacob helps lead operations, and even members of the fifth generation are already learning the craft.

deBoer Dining Experiences in Holland
Today, deBoer Bakkerij and Dutch Brothers Restaurants offer two distinct experiences. The south location leans fast and casual, while the north location offers a full-service breakfast and lunch menu.
You'll find omelets, benedicts, sandwiches, salads, and Dutch favorites like Klompen cakes, ham and pea soup, and pigs in a blanket. Both spots are tied together by the same foundation of house-made baked goods.
Shore by deBoer Opens in Holland
The family's newest restaurant, Shore by deBoer, is located at 541 W. 17th St. Locals will recognize it as the former home of Jackie's place. After years of renovation, it's now in its soft opening phase.
While you'll find plenty of familiar breakfast favorites, Shore's menu also includes some more creative offerings.
One of the more eye-catching items is a breakfast board loaded with black forest ham, gouda, deviled eggs, pickled vegetables, fresh bread, butter, honey, and jam.

There are also Klompen cakes topped with blueberry or lemon, cannoli and tiramisu-inspired pancakes, strawberry tres leches French toast, and an Elvis-style version piled with peanut butter mousse, caramelized banana, and crispy bacon.
Of course, you'll also find plenty of breakfast staples, including omelets, benedicts, biscuits and gravy, country fried steak, breakfast tacos, and hash dishes. Lunch options include smash burgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads.
The restaurant is currently open Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations and takeout are not available at this time, and alcohol service is expected to be added soon.
