Popular West Michigan TV Anchor Shares Heartfelt Goodbye to Viewers
One of the coolest things in life is getting to see someone you know grow up right in front of your eyes and do amazing things.

I moved to Grand Rapids back in 2007 to take my first full-time job in radio.
During my seven years at the radio station I started an internship program.
Throughout that time I was able to see several young men and women go on to get jobs in radio and television.
One of those amazing young women was Alana Holland.
After interning at the radio station, she went on to graduate from Grand Valley State University and pursue her dream of being in television.
About 12 and a half years ago she started working at WNEW-TV in Saginaw, MI.
Then in 2020 she got the chance to move to Grand Rapids and took a job at WZZM 13.
I think we all know what happened next.

Earlier this week Alana shared a very sweet and personal goodbye message with her friends on social media that Friday, June 5th was her last broadcast on WZZM 13.
I'm bummed that I won't be able to see Alana on my TV anymore, but I totally understand all the reasons behind the tough decision to say goodbye.
I hope the new job is wonderful and that you get all the sleep you can handle.
